Ken Strickland
Ken Strickland is the Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost for the Massachusetts College of Art and Design. This follows a ten-year stint at the Memphis College of Art, where Ken served as the Dean, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Interim President. Previously, he was an Associate Professor of Art and Design, then Dean of the School of Art and Design, at SUNY Purchase. As a professor, Ken taught woodworking, furniture design and making. For thirty years, he was the owner and head designer of Shadow & Substance, a design firm specializing in custom furniture and architectural renovation. Ken has served on the NASAD Commission on Accreditation since 2005. He has also been a member of the National Council of Arts Administrators and the SUNY Council of Art Department Chairs. He holds a Master of Fine Arts from the Rhode Island School of Design.
